Masters of Education Convocation 2015
I convocated from the University of Saskatchewan in the fall of 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in the field of Sociology. At the time, I had already began studying with the College of Education at the same institute. I completed my Bachelor of Education in Elementary/Middle Years in the spring of 2011. At this time, I began taking pre-requisite courses to begin a masters program. I completed my Masters of Education requirements in the spring of 2015 and convocated from the University of Saskatchewan in fall of 2015 with a Masters in Education, in the field of Educational Psychology and Special Education.

Reggio Emilia Study  Tour with  friends from SPSD 2015
My first teaching contract was with the Saskatoon Public School Division teaching full day, every day kindergarten at a community school. This was a wonderful experience and I created lasting collaborative relationships in this position that I continue to utilise today.

I now teach with the Prairie Spirit School Division; where I was initially hired to teach two full day, every other day kindergarten classes. I taught in this assignment for two years, and upon my third year, our school only had enough kindergarten registrants to warrant one kindergarten classroom. Since that time I have had a variety of roles including:

  • Prekindergarten
  • Grade One Social, Science, Health, Fine Arts, Mathematics
  • Grade Three Mathematics
  • Grade Six Science & Health
  • Special Education Resource Teacher
  • Learning Facilitator
  • Early Learning Consultant
  • Early Learning Sector Facilitator
  • Hybrid Learning Resource Developer
My passion lies within early learning and I feel fortunate to currently work in prekindergarten; as well as holding the role of Early Learning Consultant for Prairie Spirit School Division.

Away from school I have many other passions! I am also a professional figure skating coach with Skate Canada and love spending time on the ice instructing figure skating as well as power skating. Being active is a large part of my life and I also love going to the gym, taking aerial classes, barre classes as well as running. I have now been running for two years and have completed 5km, 10km and half marathon races.

Rome 2015 with Doug
Travel is definitely one of my loves and I often get to travel with my partner, Doug. We have traveled across Canada, United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, Australia, Europe, French Polynesian and Asia.

A few of my other obsessions include nutrition, professional reading, shopping, Starbucks, the spa, television show binges, and cooking to name a few.

In January of 2019, the little love of my life entered the world. Boston Lennon is now eighteen months old and he is the light and love of our lives. Watching him grow and develop fill my heart with joy.
